About Soma: From Form to Feeling
In modern Greek, soma refers to the body as structure—physical, visible, anatomical.

In ancient philosophy, it was seen as the container of the soul—or psyche. In some schools of thought, the body was even viewed as a prison for the soul:
| “The body is a tomb.” — Plato (σῶμα σῆμα)

In somatic practice, soma is not just the body you have—it’s the body you are: the breathing, sensing, feeling body that holds memory, emotion, and presence.

SomaSensory Journeys invites you to live from the inside out—moment by moment, breath by breath.
Why Soma Matters
Understanding soma allows us to approach ourselves and others in a fully relational way. It’s not just about posture, movement, or technique—it’s about the experience of being in a living, sensing body that can connect, receive, and respond.

Through awareness of soma, we can:
-
Deepen connection with ourselves and others
-
Access emotions and memories held in the body
-
Move with presence, attunement, and clarity
-
Live more fully, from the inside out
Soma in Practice
Every interaction in SomaSensory Journeys—whether a session, guided journey, or online reflection—is designed to honor the living, sensing body. By focusing on soma, we create a space where connection, understanding, and presence can emerge naturally, moment by moment.
